An integrally reinforced forged branch connection welded to an opening in a header allows for the creation of a reliable branch within a compact space while compensating for the structural weakening caused by the opening. It is commonly used for small-diameter branch lines connected to high-pressure, high-temperature, large-diameter headers.
Manufactured with advanced CNC equipment and proven processes, our flanges, pipe bends, and fittings deliver accurate dimensions, stable sealing performance, and dependable installation across demanding industrial applications.
Standard: MSS SP-97-2025.
Type: 90° or 45° integrally reinforced branch connection (olet); branch ends available in butt-weld, socket-weld, or threaded configurations.
Selection Parameters: Run pipe OD and wall thickness; branch size; branch end type; branch wall thickness and height.
Materials: ASTM A105, A182 F304/F316, F11/F22, or other project-specified grades.
Design/Installation: Connected to the run pipe via full-penetration welding; pressure rating to be calculated based on run pipe, opening reinforcement, materials, and applicable piping codes.
Ordering/Acceptance: Confirm run pipe OD/wall thickness, branch size/end type, material, and height; verify contour fit, markings, and material certification; ensure installation welding and opening reinforcement comply with piping design codes.
